He's not a central striker an neither is Johnson, but you know what? I reckon Daniel bought them both thinking that they'd be replacements for Kane, probably because somebody told him that they could play as 'striker', and not being strikers meant they could be acquired more cheaply...
Solanke was bought because it became apparent that neither Johnson and Pigeon are good enough centrally.
None of the other three you list are proven at all, and are too young to even assess if they'll make it at this level. Plus, only Veliz was brought in, the other two are academy kids.
Yeah, of course we have central strikers that are unproven kids and cost nothing, that's my point...
I think the term 'striker' is somewhat outdated. Perhaps we rephrase it and say; players with the ability to play up front, centrally, with sufficient effectiveness.
Those players are around, but Levy struggles with the concept of competing for players than are in demand by other big clubs. Solanke was another opportunity coming from a smaller club, and no other club to compete on contract terms with.
He looks like a half decent signing, but why has it taken almost three years when we all knew Kane was going? Would be my question.
Whatever happens, we are TEN points worse off in the league than at this stage last season, we need to improve quickly and hopefully Solanke will help with that.
Can’t say I was disappointed when he pulled the hammy. Kudos for setting up the goal though. Possibly better suited to a wide role

But Solanke is. So are Scarlett Veliz and Lankshear.

But who does Citeh Arse and Liverpool have as strikers? True strikers are hard to find
