I'd like to think he's done a head count and realised he could lose most of the 'men' from the squad (PEH, Lloris, Kane, Perisic, Bentancur out for half a season) and be left with an awful lot of 'boys'.
If the best of those on that entire list were all fit, healthy and committed to the cause I'd say we were two or three defenders away from a very solid squad indeed.
So that would mean Kane 100% up for it, Son back to his best, Hojbjerg up for it, Bentancur fit, Perisic in form and up for it, etc.
Sadly that isn't the case and as such we're still miles away.
Villa are open to offers for Lucas Digne.We could do a lot worse and probably will.Bought by Gerrard he never really made his mark in a side that Gerrard wasn’t big enough to handle.A manager by his playing reputation and not up to it.

Any club worth its salt would keep Perisic. Experienced proven winners are in short supply.
