Spurs fans need to watch out for themselves being hypercritical here. Were Man Utd poor this season because they didn't have the players needed to enforce ETH's tactics or was it the 'tactics' and the opposition simply worked them out? To be honest, opposition fans don't care. ETH has bought very poor players and the Academy bailed him out of trouble.

For me, Man Utd were terrible this season, but they threw all their eggs into the cups basket, and why not! It worked last season so stick to what you know. That is one mistake Ange has to learn from. Drawing City in Round 4 was a bad stroke of luck, but there is a big difference in ours' and United's team/squad. There is also a difference in what both Academies produce.

Utd saw off the mighty Wigan, Newport and Coventry as well as a pathetic Forest en route to the final; they certainly rode their luck at home v Liverpool and in the most important game of the season they turned up. That is another thing Spurs have to learn to do, turn up. I think the last time we did this was when Conte's Spurs beat Arsenal 3-0.

ETH stated it is all about trophies and he is correct. Spurs though are fixated on 4th and it's wrong. I look at Poch's attitude to cups, and it was poor. Conte couldn't have cared less with the European campaign whilst Levy stopped Jose a week before the Cup final. Fair play to Utd, 2 trophies in 2 years, but their spending power is far superior to ours (wages and fees) and they will be able to continue to spend big because of the revenue streams they generate. This is the difference between a 'big' club and ourselves. Imagine being able to be critical of a manager who wins trophies!

Couldn’t be more right here. Winning is the metric in this case, and just imagine Spurs in the FA Cup final, turning over an unbelievable Arsenal team. On another note, I truly loathe Lineker as much as I do the BBC. They deserve each other.

Harry , your comment on Ferguson being Ghoul- like , constantly in the background , is wonderfully accurate . United seem perpetually hamstrung , tied in knots by his presence .

He has that Levy -like aura , a sort of kind malevolance , that smiles but carries a resentment because not every word that they utter is gratefully received . Is it a generational thing - or just plain unadulterated power that courses through their veins ? Great observation !!

Probably not a great deal different for Fergie’s predecessors, having the presence of Bobby Charlton looming large

There is a truth in what you say . However I think Bobby had a bucket more charm than Alex F and was not as outspoken either . Any way , wont let you speak badly on my boyhood [ and adult ] hero !!!!! L O L !!! What a player he was , legendary .

Spot on, Judge. And SAF was, of course, a managerial phenomenon.

I’d take Ten Hag if it meant we won silverware and finished 8th. What’s not to like.

This season, it's all about 'the Spurs way' which seems to have positioned Ange as the most natural fit as representative and purveyor a brand of football that makes up of the 'soul' of the club. This nonsense was quite obviously a plan hatched by Daniel/Donna/Munn, merely designed to stop The Poundshop Assassin being constantly booed at home games.

If any of that 'Spurs way' stuff was ever even remotely important to Levy & Co, they would not have employed either Conte or Jose or even Nuno on that basis. Why is it important now suddenly? Because proven winners could do nothing with the squads they were handed, so we now need to make it all about something else?

It has resulted in us having a manager who has been over hyped and lauded, purely around an opening run of 10 games and the football we played and the results it produced. That will NEVER happen again under Ange, so where are the points we finished the season on going to come from next term?

The constant failure, is now actually somehow part of a 'process', and part of building a side in some kind of 'Spurs image'?

Oh please... DO FUCK OFF!!

The thing that concerns me most is the fan base that lap it all up and don’t hold Levy responsible for this utter mess. ETH has more trophies in two ‘unsuccessful campaigns’ than we have had under enic’s entire reign. Man Utd, Chavs, Scum, BinDippers would let it happen at their respective clubs. The Levy cucks seem to enjoy it.

Over hyped is definitely the case.
