We all have differing opinions as to the value/merit of the players within our squad , but we do have good players [ not all, granted].
But after the finish of these last few games , there is almost despairing looks on all the players faces - hiding thoughts similar to "do I want or need this anymore " .
The manager is useless , there is no doubt anymore , and the Chairman must realise that this is a depreciating bunch of men . This is the worst period I have ever felt as a supporter of Spurs .
And the Silence of The Lambs [ the board of THFC ] is deafening . THIS IS FEAR , BUT WHAT IS THE FEAR ABOUT ??? Why is no-one opposing this man ?????????
There is no opposing him by the board, because they are there by his choice and their increasing wealth is also by him.So nobody is going to rock the boat.
A bit like the Labour Party really as Starmer is a complete cunt, but nobody is calling for him to step aside.
"At the moment, no substantial updates on Ange Postecoglou's position. Let's see what happens in the next few days but injuries are considered a massive issue and one of the reasons why Spurs' plan is currently not working."
This might be the stance for this season, given that nobody else decent wants to touch the job with a shitty stick.
There's no way he stays beyond the summer, and the transfer window doesn't apply to managers so no pressure to make a change right now. If things get that bad it'll be another grey puffer jacket from Hotspur Way tasked with steering us away from relegation.
Typically, Levy will look at the injuries and feel no need to do anything in this window I suspect, regardless of who the coach is...
I bet Levy is cursing more than ever that the European Super League never got off the ground a few years ago.
We’d be rock bottom of that currently with a 100% defeat record but with no threat of relegation he could truly get behind the Ange ‘trust the process’ BS without any fear of the revenue dropping off.
His utopia was sadly snatched from him by the common man, for the only time in his life. If only our fanbase could muster something similar now it might force through the only route to change we’ll ever get. Can’t see it happening though, quite incredibly I still see people defending him and Ange on WhatsApp groups and social media.
It does beg the question, how bad does it have to get before these morons start getting upset with the situation? I’m almost jealous of them, imagine being that stupid that you’re continually happy no matter the circumstances.
Bar Redknapp I can’t think of a stop gap coach I really can’t . Chris Davies is doing well at Bham It is conceivable Bournemouth will qualify for Europe ..Iraola will have bigger better run suitors than CarCrash Hotspur . He may also wish to take Bournemouth further. .
I think some of the senior players have had enough ..
'The Spurs manager clearly has problems, but contrast their results and football to that of Andoni Iraola at Bournemouth.
He was without eight players and had a total of only 39 appearances on the bench at Newcastle United on Saturday, compared to the home team's 979.
Iraola still conjured up a tactical masterclass with a 4-1 win that makes the Cherries unbeaten in 11 games in all competitions, just one point off the Champions League places.
This comparison is stark and unflattering for Spurs and Postecoglou.'
has his job when the previous two kept us in touch of European football a domestic cup and the EPL top 4/5. Another manager is now the national coach for the USA and another currently sits second in the EPL with Notts Forest.
All those fans who hated the last two for their boring football. Are you happy with what you’re seeing now. I know who I’d rather have in charge out of the current one and the last two. I’d rather have the tea lady at Hotspur way in charge instead of Thick. Dare I say, even Wyan is a better choice.
We won’t get relegated. There are definitely 3/4 teams worse than us. However, it’s a distinct possibility we could finish in the bottom 4. Silverware or not. That’s a complete disaster.
If Ange was a horse you'd shoot him. We have two Cup ties coming up which we will surely lose, depressing morale further. If we fail in Europe and don't crush Leicester I can see us collapsing completely and being relegated.
That’s possible and we have a track record of this sort of thing. No moral fibre in the club.
Any organisation takes the lead from the person at the top. No Ange but the person at the real top. Does anybody recall Levy actually laying out a vision for the anchor tenant, sorry football club?
I’d love to see his annual KPI statement-how does he get such huge bonuses when the key component must be the football club?
Most small industries like football are full of gossip, rumour, innuendo etc and the NDA merely stops the sacked individuals going to the press but doesn’t stop the chat over coffee etc. “my agent says Tottenham are interested - you worked there what’s it like?”
I’m sure Levy will find another no-name mug who’ll come for the payoff but it won’t be a Conti or Mourinho with a CV to kill for.
I’m still of the view that he’s safe till the Liverpool semi then it’s welcome Wyan till the end of another season of complete embarrassment.
A depressing afternoon made bareable by the comments on here and the bloke in the disabled section lighting his fag. Priceless
Anyway, in better news I’ve just discovered that every season of “Tales of the Unexpected”, has been released on Amazon Prime. Blast from the past. Britain in the 70s and 80s. I had a weird primary school crush on that dancing woman in the flames during the theme tune as a very small kid.
Even though i found it a bit disturbing, (not as disturbing though as the skull on the intro of Arthur C Clarke’s Mysterious World).
I think that Levy is trying to work his own reputation here. By allowing Ange to drown himself, Levy takes the high ground of, "I couldn't save him and sadly had to cut him loose for the benefit of the club".
Levy comes out as a decent guy trying his best for the poor drowning man who just had too many weights around his necks. No mention of who put them there or of hiring a man who couldn't swim!
Levy is also in the position that he has now been found out. The media will not focus on Ange's tactical shortcoming, but on injuries and why the club did not have the strength in depth to be able to rotate and cover.......
........unless that is they are given another car to chase!
I'd guess too that Levy might try to avoid sacking him if he's trying to tie up a deal to replace him already, a la Jose....
Levy will do whatever he can to deflect. The next manager will probably be unveiled within 5 minutes of sacking Ange in the hope that most people have a short attention span.
Kevin Muscat played for Millwall and I believe has the distinction of being the only English league player to be successfully prosecuted by the police for a 'tackle' during a match. Any other useful facts you'd like????
He also finished a very promising career of a young Adelaide United player with a premeditated assault while the Captain of Melbourne Victory. More suited to the old Aussie Rules than football. His record in Japan and China just goes to prove the levels there. And we got Ange? Did nobody do any due diligence on the levels they came from, the injuries and perhaps watch the Craig Foster interview on YouTube which highlights some of the attitudes now on show at post match interviews.
But I still reckon he’ll last till we are out of all the Cups.
Aw, you stole all my thunder mate, I'm in Adelaide and a local fan. The tackle you mention was in the first minute or so of the final, my family left the room due to my language at the tele. The Craig Foster interview is legendary in Oz, Foster would have to be one of the most annoying idiots but you're right, the interview does show early versions of all the behavioural traits now on display.
The only option when Levy sacks him will be Wyan....
I can’t imagine how awful it is in that club at the moment. The players looking to the manager for some…. SOMETHING?! What makes it even worse is that for every day that tosser has a job everyone is looking at the fucker that still keeps him employed.
There’s a video on Cowlins shorts showing the players not really wanting to go over particularly close to the away fans at the end. And it looks to me as though Big Minge has got his own personal security guard shadowing him…..
Says everything about how the club see us and the massive toxic gulf between staff, players and fans, particularly the most committed fans. The away.
Totally agree with that and regardless of current form you’ve got to have some respect for his (uncommon) loyalty and his record and service. He doesn’t deserve that from a couple of proper Mongs.
Postecoglou and Levy! I’m not complaining about it. No-one likes a bullshitter.
Has anyone got the slightest idea why Chairman Levy is giving this poor sod so much slack? Why is he still manager at Spurs? I'm sure Ange must have the lowest "points per game" and lowest win percentage since Ossie or Shreeves. Conte had us at 4th when the truth bombs hit, but Levy sacked Jose, Nuno, Poch, AVB etc. waaay before it got as bad as it is now.
Does Daniel know this is the end of the road? That no real manager would entertain the idea of managing Spurs? I just don't get it.
Levy comes into the spotlight again if he sacks Ange. I think he's on 14 permanent managers already and after Conte, he came under the scrutiny of the media, something which had not happened.
If Ange's head is to fall, Levy can't be too far behind him. However, if the Board have similar ideas to No Clue Daniel, little will change.
A club's culture is instilled from the top. This trickles down to all the staff, including the cleaning staff, never mind the sports science, manager, players and Academy players. If we were of club of note, Madueke would not have left in the manner he did.
Yes, but a 12th-15th finish would surely be equaly damaging for Levys standing? Heard someone on one of the Spurs channels arguing that with the all the income from other sources than football, Enic is not that focused on Europe anymore.
Like, what do they care if the football-part of the entreprise is 7th or 11th, when good money flows through the gates anyhows. A bit dramatic maybe, but...
Levy cares not a jot about his standing as long as the club's revenues are high.
I agree that staying in the EPL is all that matters. It's not about winning or even competing, but merely being part of the show. We've turned into the New York Knicks. They haven't won a championship since the 1970s, yet are a behemoth amongst sporting franchises. Dallas Cowboys too. No Superbowl this century, but the money rolls in more than any other sporting club.
To be fair, Napoli were in a far better state than when he took over us, but he certainly knows how to win when given the players he wants and needs. A little part of Levy must be squirming (I hope).
The title they won the year before tells anyone that there was structure in place from the top down that allowed success, unlike what you'd find at Spurs.
The whole thing is a mess, the squad isn't good enough and it's made worse by methods that mean the team cannot play well more than once a month and methods that lead to an endless injury list.
A shit squad, and a coach that is incompetent at this level.
Both of which makes the possibility of relegation more than pure hysteria.
We all have differing opinions as to the value/merit of the players within our squad , but we do have good players [ not all, granted].

At some point Levy will need to demonstrate to the world that all of this suddenly 'isn't good enough', as he always does, and another head rolls.
It’s ironic the this particular manager still
has his job when the previous two kept us in touch of European football a domestic cup and the EPL top 4/5. Another manager is now the national coach for the USA and another currently sits second in the EPL with Notts Forest.

I was a strange little bugger.
That theme tune... Thanks for today's ear worm.

You know you love it !! 😀
I was terrified of those bloody tarot cards …
They were showing them on one of the crappy Freeview channels. I watched one or two and quite enjoyed them. I was too young when they first came out.
Such a fabulous series
As was the original ‘The Fugitive ‘ ..Kojak ..ooph .
👍

I have a levy defender friend. He says it's not Levy picking the team. I mean strewth!
You do know you're allowed to 'un-friend' people, or a least get them some psychological help???? :)
Bless!
Levy will do whatever he can to deflect. The next manager will probably be unveiled within 5 minutes of sacking Ange in the hope that most people have a short attention span.
Hopefully it’s not another fat Australian 😜
I think Kevin Muscat is available. Won in Oz and Japan.
Kevin Muscat played for Millwall and I believe has the distinction of being the only English league player to be successfully prosecuted by the police for a 'tackle' during a match. Any other useful facts you'd like????

Unfortunately for Daniel he's running out of options. It's all on the table really.
That's why he's reluctant to pull the trigger. Let's watch the little shit squirm.

I might be wrong…
Your not Son recieved dogs abuse from some of the Spurs support. Another of Levy’s human shields fuckin disgraceful . He deserves better.
Totally agree with that and regardless of current form you’ve got to have some respect for his (uncommon) loyalty and his record and service. He doesn’t deserve that from a couple of proper Mongs.
Postecoglou and Levy! I’m not complaining about it. No-one likes a bullshitter.
But not Son.
Yeah spot on .
You'd think he'd go over to wave goodbye 👋
Should’ve walked a season ago.

Antonio Antonio ..6 pts clear at Top on Serie A.. Ding Dong.
To be fair, Napoli were in a far better state than when he took over us, but he certainly knows how to win when given the players he wants and needs. A little part of Levy must be squirming (I hope).
Beat rivals Atalanta 2-3 in a thriller .Napoli finished 10 th last season.
The title they won the year before tells anyone that there was structure in place from the top down that allowed success, unlike what you'd find at Spurs.
You’re right they sacked their coach when he began to fail.
