He's typically Swedish, which is generally very down to earth and unimpressed by bullsh*it. They also carry a little arrogance and superiority which can be good in a sporting environment. Most Scandinavians speak a decent level of English, probably have American popular culture to thank for that!

The clubs press are akin to year 7 kids given an opportunity to ask the local celeb or MP a few questions. I’m surprised he didn’t ask what his favourite food was or what he had for breakfast.

Do you have a favourite colour other than white?

I'm always extremely embarrassed by young lads like Bergwall . They generally speak English so wonderfully well , we Brits are so lucky that it is the language of the Western world at least .

Their poiteness is also something to behold - and he looks like a darn good player too !!

The Scandinavian education system is leagues above the rest of the world. They are taught things vs learning how to pass a test.

I’m currently in Spain. Most Brits can’t even say good morning, afternoon or evening in Spanish. Thank you or even order a beer is a stretch. That was something even the most basic knuckle dragger could do once upon a time.

The main reason is that English is taught from a young age at all schools in Europe at least, and most of the world I would guess. But when most of us using this blog were at primary and junior school it just wasn't on the agenda.

When I was approaching GSEs we had the option of learning French and I thought Why,everybody speaks English don't they.Little did I realise that my last 23 years [I know] have been spent living in rural France. And believe me the language has been very difficult to learn starting at over 50 years old.

We don't have children, but I would encourage any adult to impress on their offspring the value of learning one or more of the main foreign languages at school and taking them seriously. So many opportunities are open to them with those skills.Football is one such area where it would be an advantage.

Christ; that interview is really, really dim. I don't believe he is aware that he could not offend anyone, even if he tried.

How on earth has he found such a cushy number?

All opinions held on Bergval, Grey and Co. For at least a season.
