Simon Jordan was arguing with an expert re PSR about how much Spurs could spend. He bangs on about being a club owner as though having a smarter man with a better financial plan and better backing taking the club off him is to be lauded .
Jordan stated that he was sick of club Chmn being hounded…wonder how he explains our Chmns bonuses.
Seen that Jamie Donley got two assists and a worldy against away at Exeter for Orient last night. I went to the Orient before Christmas when they were playing Bristol Rovers, Orient won 3-0 I think (Bristol were shite) but Donley didn't do a great deal that night. If Madders is out, I'd consider recalling him for the bench and giving him some mins, looks strong enough for an outing.
If this injury crisis is to blame for this terrible form, surely you'd try anything?
As predicted Mickey VDV will be in the team at Anfield, where the poor lad will probably blow his hammy again trying to play Loon-Ball. Ange knows his future hinges on getting past Liverpool, what a joke...
After our performances of the past few months, part of me thinks if we put this lot out playing on crutches etc... we probably wouldn't play any worse :)
There appear to be an increasing number of reports, articles, etc., which are turning the spotlight on Levy. I think the second tier IQs, are feeling that there is now a critical mass rumbling underneath them which bypasses (tho' doesn't exhonorate) Ange and is starting to focus on the lowest common denominator: Levy.
Our current circumstance highlights so much; keep the manager but don't support him in any tangible way (apart from keeping his P45 in the drawer). The type of penny pinching antics that translate into not buying players to supplement the absentees because its cheaper to wait for some of them to get better, is being looked at now through an historic lens with punters going on to say, "Yeah, just like when we went 2 seasons without reinforcements". It then gets elaborated on with who we didn't sign due to wages or inability to 'structure' a deal.
I think the weasel is out of the bag and Levy will have a job to contain where the spotlight shines.
Now under normal circumstances (how sad that we can paraphrase this as "normal"), Levy changes the narrative by sacking the manager and all attention is deflected away from him and onto the poor schmuck leaving and schmuck-list of potential candidates (read victims).
At this point in time though, keeping Ange may be the best thing that could happen in keeping the spotlight on Levy. There are more people stepping forward with stories and views which show how piss poor the man is at a) running a football club because Ange is not the only one out of his depth, and b) managing his people. He hires the likes of Munn, Lange and of course Miss Piggy to surround him like medieval sycophants reinforcing his small man ego.
His mates and flunkies Jordan, Gold (my beer) etc. are starting to lose cedibility in supporting both Levy and the club infrastructure and Gold (my beer) is already looking to turncoat central, just in case!
My view right here and now is, we are unlikely to get relegated (regardless of the hyperbole), but our situation is newsworthy and analysis is actually being done into causality not of Ange, but of him AND his two dozen predecessors!
Given that, keeping Ange may be painful, but he is just another battle in a long line of battles: we need to find a way to win the war. Whilst the opportunity is there, maybe we need to move aside in calling for head #25 and let the pebbles move the rocks that move the boulders that might just cause the landslide which buries this little fucker!
As long as Ange is not sacked, the Levy conversation will become the Lavy debate and keep gathering momentum as it already has, with even the mainstream acknowledging Levy's, pardon the pun, shortcomings.
Now is the time to keep Levy in the spotlight: let the TV coverage acknowledge the music blaring to cover up the outcries at the ground, pan to the banners and make the Spurs dilemma the main story and Levy what he is, the Bond Villain. If we have to suffer Ange whilst that happens so be it..... it's a small price to pay in putting strategy ahead of tactics.....
Those of us that said that (with a heavy heart) that they would rather see us do poorly if meant that more people would finally wake up to the scam in N17, have now been exonerated.
Yet it was always going to happen, because Daniel Levy truly cannot help himself, when it comes to squeezing every last drop out of this football club.
How does he think he can get away with the lowest wage to revenue ratio in the league and get away with it?
Like I've said before, it has to be either total arrogance or some kind of 'spectrum' symptom with Levy, as I don't know how any reasonably minded human being would choose to do this, without clear consideration of it's ramifications.
Who know's, there's a chance that this expose of the club's financial operations in the mainstream media might spook Levy into selling up. There is absolutely no excuse for such extreme levels of penny pinching, against the backdrop of the one minor trophy in quarter of a century. I don't think the media will let up now they have the bit between their teeth.
Romero was the last one to tell it like it is, and the dumbos all claim that he's "just trying to force a move'. Perhaps he is, can you blame him? He could have said that he wants to try and win the Champions League or something, but he didn't.
After 25 years, the ownership have run out of managers, any trust and now any believable set of excuses for running things they way they do. Levy and ENIC have all the planning consents approved to bulldoze more of North Tottenham. They need to either find a way of selling the whole operation or at least the football club. They're just embarrassing themselves...
This is a lovely idea and I’d be all for it were it guaranteed to work, however….
I truly believe if Ange sees the season out we’ll get relegated.
Let’s assume that happens. Does that mean Levy sells? Highly unlikely, he’s a sociopath so he will see it as his birthright to correct that wrong and get Spurs back into the Prem.
He certainly isn’t going to sell at less than what he believes is its top market value and with the revenue generated from TP stadium activities there will be no need to panic in his mind, he will look to weather that storm and hope for a quick promotion straight back to the top division.
I’m of another mind. Let’s pray someone makes him see sense, we get someone in to replace Flange and ensure we’re 17th or above (the bar is low in terms of tactical acumen so it shouldn’t be difficult to upgrade from where we are) and then maybe he starts thinking this is more bother than it’s worth due to fanbase and media sentiment. Perhaps sell the thing in the close season and sail into the sunset with his ill gotten fortune with no scrutiny.
It’s a safer bet than the alternate anyway, relegation for our club of our size could see us turn into the next Leeds Utd.
That does not really factor in the injured who will return. Also does not factor in the probability that Spurs cannot stay in 4 comps all the way through.
Take heart, Spurs will be fine. Not ideal or anywhere close, but fine.
I totally agree - this is the worst run of form in recent memory - at what stage would you call relegation form ? Do we have to be in 18th before we classify it "serious" ???
I think it will depend on a few twists and turns, right now you wouldn't tip us for relegation. However, if they really have bought into Ange's reasoning about the atrocious form and it doesn't improve like he says it will, in about 6 weeks time things could start to look very different...
the recruiting bloke. Just look at anyone who didn’t toe the line. All working successfully elsewhere.
As to the public face of the club it’s always the manager so why wasn’t it picked up on appointment just how poor Ange acts on interviews? Again v poor recruitment and like the hamstring problem not addressed despite the history. Surely we didn’t find Ange on LinkedIn?
I’m actually coming round to the view that relegation might be the only way to get Levy out but that probably won’t work either. By the time we get back up I’ll be long gone so at least the tight wad will be able to sell my ticket to some other poor sod.
Well that was fun, helped by the rum no doubt. Might have a couple before Thursday night to ease the pain.
Not only will they struggle to get competent managers to work for Levy but they’ll be lucky to find anybody decent to play too.
The next reason for no signings will be the extended European competitions going into January. We tried very hard but…..
Chris made the very good point about the quality of the back room staff. They are all second rate YTS types but they’re cheap and won’t argue with the hierarchy. The same should be said of Munn and
Repeat - I do like Doku , I'd have an interest , but respect there are many players out there to be had -- but if we're not already on everybody's blacklist , our expected results in the coming weeks [ including the Semi 2nd Leg ] nobody but nobody will come here .
If that is the case - and the high probability of rats on a sinking ship , perhaps one or two purchases of quality should happen now ?? We need fresh impetus , if they turn us down [ can you blame them ?] then we tried , didn't we ? You dont ask , you dont ...............
I digress - Pep is stating that he is willing to sell Jeremy Doku . This is the player that has halted Jack Grealish's career . With Sonny on the slide , Werner just not right for purpose and Solomon obviously been abandoned , I would venture to say that this fella could be exactly what we need - and with a point to prove .
Think he went to City for £50m , i'd suspect they'd take less right now - maybe £40 m ??
I like him a lot , very similar to Sonny's early days here - a natural replacement and he's been there and done it ???
Agreed but why would he come to Spurs? Sure there would be plenty of suitors. This is the issue we have now, who wants to join this circus and endanger their career.
you're absolutely right , but he's settled in England and if we are going to attempt any signings - RIGHT NOW has to be our chance - a few more weeks and we're cooked
Bottom line is this week you must give Ange credit for one thing no other manager under Levy has done: FINALLY GETTING THE MAJORITY OF THE ENGLISH PRESS TO TROLL DANIEL LEVY FOR WHAT HE IS AND WHAT HE'S DONE TO OUR CLUB.
Our other managers leaving barely got a mention in comparison...
(Same old Spurs sacking yet another manager who leaves to end up in greener pastures.)

Most likely I’ll be at QPR in a couple of weeks will report on Yang if he plays.

These gems are appearing everywhere.
Team for Thursday (treatment room):
Vicario
Spence Romero Vdv Udogie
Bissouma Maddison Sarr
Johnson Solanke Odobert
Bench (waiting for a bed):
Forster Werner Richarlison
After our performances of the past few months, part of me thinks if we put this lot out playing on crutches etc... we probably wouldn't play any worse :)
In times like these we need to remain calm.
Stay calm and sack Ange…
As Poch used to say: I’m bery calm.
have we bought anyone yet?........................................zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

24(38)/23 = 40 points.
That does not really factor in the injured who will return. Also does not factor in the probability that Spurs cannot stay in 4 comps all the way through.
Take heart, Spurs will be fine. Not ideal or anywhere close, but fine.
This is not what a relegation threat looks like.
Depends on your sample. One win from the last 11 with that win being against a team on track to be the worst since Derby County in 07/08.
That’s relegation form.
I totally agree - this is the worst run of form in recent memory - at what stage would you call relegation form ? Do we have to be in 18th before we classify it "serious" ???
I understand, but Luton went down in 18th last season on 26 points. Forest was 17th with 32.
Wolves sit in 18th after 23 matches with 16 points.
23(26)/38 = 15.73
Wolves are on pace for the same 26 or 27 points as last season's #18.
Again, not ideal. At all. It is awful.
But Spurs are not in serious threat of relegation here.
I think it will depend on a few twists and turns, right now you wouldn't tip us for relegation. However, if they really have bought into Ange's reasoning about the atrocious form and it doesn't improve like he says it will, in about 6 weeks time things could start to look very different...

Paul Mitchell..
Affectionately referred to as "Mitch" by Daniel, when he sacked him after only a few months...
Well that was fun, helped by the rum no doubt. Might have a couple before Thursday night to ease the pain.

How can Daniel keep the wage to revenue percentage the lowest in the league if he starts signing players like Doku from clubs like Man City?
Think they'd charge more after the Kane move that got blocked
Doku has a history of hamstring injuries. He wouldn’t last 5 minutes at Spurs.
Agreed but why would he come to Spurs? Sure there would be plenty of suitors. This is the issue we have now, who wants to join this circus and endanger their career.

Not even rare yet.
Triumvirate of Levy, Munn and Lange, with Thick reminding us multiple times he’s running the project. No wonder we are where we are.
Which rum?
