I enjoy listening as always - and enjoy arguing either side, but as ALWAYS with Spurs,
the problem isn't wins and losses so much but HOW THEY F*CKING DO IT.
If we beat Fulham & Ipswich at home and Palace and Leicester on the road AND get clobbered on the road to City and United we get the "usual" blather - we're a mid-table crap squad that Levy never supports and we'll never win another trophy so long as Levy breathes. Nobody would be all over Ange like this.
Well...that means the problem with Ange's system is that with healthy players or even an injured/suspended squad (at City) it gave you decisive wins at City (4-0), United (3-0) and over Villa (4-1) and Brentford (3-1). That is the "hope" that is killing too many of you!
Now in the midst of a 9-match December, the lack of depth is showing, but Ange is a failure for not using players no manager in 4 trusts (Spence), or Reguilon or Ange is out of his depth. The squad looks exhausted like it did in March annually under Poch.
With Bentancur - instead of the deep playing Sarr/Biss - would we really look as bad offensively? That 7-match suspension is not Ange's fault.
I think Ange is finding himself in a situation he's never seen...trying to deal with the first large section of a fanbase that hates his boss (Levy) so much they'll root against him succeeding.
Oh well. Heading to breakfast with my daughter then the Pub.
Yes, it was unfair to him when Levy purchased him 2 weeks into the season (he had no chance to catchup learning Conte's system and was playing) for a manager that didn't ask for him nor want him. I was happy to see him sent off on loan but then he had attitude problems at two loans (one manager and it can be just a personality difference, but more than one is when I look directly at the player as the problem), and he's also failed to impress two managers here.
Champions League is where Levy wants to be because of the money/commercial opportunities that come with it. When you look at Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and City, then a Man U rebirth, getting into the top 4/5 is becoming a pipe dream. Levy must understand that if you get left behind on the pitch, it’s going to serious damage the ability to become more profitable off it. We are in danger of competing with West Ham / Newcastle and Villa for top 8. Id say to move up to CL qualification every season will require a proper world class coach’s (not this Aussie small time winner who lets in goals from corners for fun), and at least half a billion in squad investment…Levy won’t do it, his bargain bin purchases and playing style U-turns are nowhere near the standard of top 4/5.
It's very hard to summon up the motivation to post anything, when faced with the existence of an owner whose mission and entire focus, with regards to the club, is solely on making money at the expense of winning. In fact it renders the whole experience of supporting the club as utterly demoralising and demotivating, a feeling which ultimately is experienced by every great player who has passed through the club in the past 25 years and every manager. In fact anyone who blames Ange, or Conte, or Mourinho, or Poch for this travesty of ownership is delusional.
That is not to absolve Ange from all blame. His insistence on not using a set-piece coach is crass. It's 'bush league' and flies in the face of empirical, evidence, as borne witness to not only by the scum down the road, but by the success of the 'set piece' coach, Gianni Vio, he inherited and promptly fired. At which point, as I recall, we were second in the league in set-piece goals scored/conceded behind Liverpool. Nevertheless, in the cosmic scheme of things, Ange is merely a patsy, a Lee Harvey Oswald, in Levy's LBJ/CIA/FBI/Mafia style orchestrated 'hit' on THFC.
Levy is a profiteering charlatan who disingenuously spouts meaningless platitudes about the 'club DNA' and building a future for the club, but all he is building, or ever had designs on, is the accretion of debt-financed equity in the club for his own financial gain. A narcissist and a liar who has somehow convinced himself and those he employs, that he is working in the club's best interests, as opposed to the truth, which is his own financial best interests. No soul, no conscience, no sense of fiduciary duty to the fan base, the architect of a personal fiefdom, designed to service one person, himself.
Great managers make players better - even Poch, who isn’t great, did that with our lot. Who is Ange making better? They are all nosediving into oblivion and the ones with talent will be leaving asap.
At least these pods/vlogs provide light relief 🤣, but honestly, can you remember the fan forum from last year, when Levy said to the audience of incels “with Ange, we’ve got our Tottenham back!”. I’m frankly embarrassed to be associated with a man that has stolen 23 years of my life. The only thing that changes our plight is Levy cashing out. G-d willing that happens 🙏
Hasn't Levy said that he would want to remain Chairman/CEO even under a new ownership? We can't get rid of him. He's like a demonic entity at N17 that needs exorcising.
There's a very good article on Football365 about Ange and the current situation. The author is effectively laying the blame on Levy without naming him:
The squad is crap, however, we've seen the flatline performances happen with our best team out as well.
The squad certainly doesn't help, but for example, Ange was going on about that working on defending corners wouldn't make any difference. Well, we're consistently conceding them and opponents now see it as a weakness to exploit. Especially when the bloody coach tells the world that it doesn't need to be worked on as well!
The real problem we have, is that despite Ange having these obvious shortcomings at this level, who on earth could we attract to replace him who'd be much better? A proven winner won't want it, and a coach that would be interested in a 'project' like the one we're being lied to about happening under Ange , won't want it either...
Leicester won the league because they were solid defensively and deadly on the counter. I wonder where they would have ended up on the table that season with Ange doing his Ted Lasso impression. I don't think it's a stretch to assume relegation. While the squad isn't very good of course we can do better. Forest, Bournemouth and Fulham are above us on the table and that's on Ange. That's how I would see it if I was in contention for the job, catch up and finish 6th and I'd pat myself on the back. Levy would probably be ecstatic with 6th at this rate.
I think the biggest reason by far that Leicester won besides it being a down year for the true big teams is that Kante had maybe the best year of any prem player in many years completely overshadowed by Vardy and Mahrez which is really what your saying BT 😀
Ange says stuff like "we're a better side than last season", at what? Playing well one to two games a month? And when we've been shit, we've been even shitter...
Strange then that we ended up with a fourth some say eighth choice coach ..As we can see from the comments including yours and that of our travelling support our coaches are far from blameless.
The fact we have and will continue to have a thin squad is one of the reasons no coach of repute will come to Spurs ..that and the over elaborate training facilities that were let’s face it created for an NFL franchise.
The notion that this is a Top league is a nonsense ..there were no British finalists in any European competition last year …Fans have become neutered and pacified stadiums in Germany’s second tier have a better atmosphere than epl games .
I agree that success is not a requirement at THFC ..in fact it is discouraged… No win bonuses because we don’t win anything no add ons on transfer deals because we no longer get far in Europe or cup ,competitions both reasons cited by Kieran Maguire for making THFC an attractive proposition for investment ..Failure is factored in at THFC. Coaches of repute want to win things just like players of repute . Having failure factored in will attract no one but opportunists and chancers.
We have become a sad grubby little club but if 58000 home fans want to come shove coke up their noses talk bollox and sit quietly in their seat paying top dollar who am I to disagree.
Failure is factored in at THFC…About as attractive as Scabies.
Kulu is playing to leave and why wouldn’t he . It’s horrible but it isn’t about football . Once Levy gets his NFL franchise the football club is toast ..Toxic Hotspur ..we have been mortally penetrated and the fan base lets it get deeper and deeper in .even though it will kill the club.

Just listened to the post Cherries blues podcast.
Bloody classic! Superb laugh. Definitely therapy for the slow motion train crash we are watching at Spurs. Many thanks once again lads.
What is the bloody obsession with Djed Spence?
Yes, it was unfair to him when Levy purchased him 2 weeks into the season (he had no chance to catchup learning Conte's system and was playing) for a manager that didn't ask for him nor want him. I have a new nickname… Ange 10 games. Like someone out of a Guy Richie movie. Could even reduce it to just 10 games. Spurs version of dry eye.
There is of course a very long list of nicknames with more to come no doubt.
I think tomorrow could well be 10 games last game.

You're right Chris,I did love it.Thanks again chaps.
Apparently McKenna of Ipswich is the front runner to succeeed Postecoglou.I hope he doesn't for his own sanity and reputation.
Where does an exciting young coach go after THFC..
Thanks lads. Angeball is a high press with add ons. Nothing spectacular and easily countered.

He’s so greedy, I doubt that would ever happen.
If Levy had any brains he’d sell now at peak valuation before the everything bubble bursts.
I think ego and greed cloud most judgements Levy makes.

Levy is a cancer and if forced to choose one leaving, it would 100% be Levy. Doesn’t make the Aussie fraud any good though. Tactical dunce.
Like chosing between cancer or a stroke.

He says a lot of things, none of it is useful
The uncomfortable questions are ..how good could this squad be witn another coach ..and who of any repute is mad enough to work for the Dwarf of NFL.
A- another coach would not run a thin squad into the ground so would probably do better.
B- a lot of people would take the job. Big money, great facilities, top league and knowing when they inevitably fail they will be blameless.
Strange then that we ended up with a fourth some say eighth choice coach ..As we can see from the comments including yours and that of our travelling support our coaches are far from blameless.

In Italy Levy would have Ultra’s round his house.
MK Dons Stadium anyone .
I agree, I think Kulu is very much playing to leave.
Does the drunk Uncle do kidnapping ..asking for a friend.
Todd DeKline ..thanks ..
